The story behind Evil Corporation Brewing…

Evil Corp Brewing was founded in Calgary of 2018 with the vision to produce high-quality small batches of beer to be shared with friends, family, and the community. We were passionate home brewers with corporate day jobs and had a shared passion for producing unique flavours of beer. It was a fun and exciting creative outlet for the team. “Super Communo Beer Friends” manifested from this vision, which eventually led to “Live Evil”, where the original core principles are embedded within our definition of “Evil”. Obviously, we are everything but evil in its original sense of the word.

Despite all of our challenges both personally and as a business, our sales targets to stay viable aren’t crazy numbers. We were faced with situations that drained our capital and prevented us from executing on proper sales and marketing strategies. If we can get through this hurdle, we will be ecstatic to continue serving the community with love and passion through our products and service.

From day one, we were plagued by issues, a story that most business owners can relate to. Our original brewery location that was in the late stages of planning and design was negatively impacted by the Covid pandemic and led to significant delays and sunk costs. We ultimately had to abandon the location in search of a viable one. In the midst of all of this, we had lost our access to funding and some significant investors pulled their money out. In desperate need of capital, Quan kept the business going with personal credit cards and lines of credit. We eventually got the support of Servus Credit Union to fund our current location’s taproom construction. Unfortunately, the construction faced many regulatory challenges and significant delays, leading to massive cost overruns. Quan had to take an equity line of credit on his home to continue with the business that we all poured our blood, sweat and tears into. We opened our taproom in July of 2023 with success, however sales dwindled heading into the fall. Simultaneously, Quan was facing health and numerous personal and family challenges that required him to step away completely from the business. Depression, divorce, disease, death (looming), trauma was a lot to deal with all at the same time.

Quan has recently stepped back into the business in a desperate need to recover what is left of the brewery and is heavily leaning on the support of friends, family and the business community to pull through.

We need everyone to visit the brewery regularly with their friends and family, buy canned beer and merchandise, spread the word to get our name out there, consider custom labelled beers, host events in our private boardroom or taproom, purchase a corporate sponsorship package. If we can sell an equivalent of 40,000 beers by the end of December 2024, we will be okay.

So come join us for a beer! The event is FREE to attend for all entrepreneurs

Come out to network and connect with fellow entrepreneurs and support a business that needs your help!
